5 mg clAPC lyophilized powder in 10mM K-P buffer with sugar as additive.
Allophycocyanin (APC), purified from Spirulina, is made up of alpha and beta subunits and is present as a trimer (αβ)3, which is unstable and susceptible to dissociation at low concentrations. The monomer, αβ, has a lower fluorescence quantum yield compared to the trimer and the maximal absorption is also shifted to 620 nm. The chemically cross-linked APC trimer is much more stable than the native APC trimer, but still retains the same spectroscopic properties as the native APC trimer.
Reconstitute whole bottle of Lyo clAPC (5 mg) with your conjugate buffer to adjust the concentration for further use.
One bottle of Lyo clAPC contains about 5 mg of clAPC with sugar as protective. It is not accurate to measure clAPC directly by weight. To get an accurate weight of clAPC, we recommend use its extinction coefficient as measurement (i.e. [clAPC]=0.149 x A651, where [clAPC] is in mg/ml and A651 is the absorbance at 651 nm, as long as A651 is in the range of 0.3 to 0.8 ).
No preservative is added in the product. Once reconstitute it, please use it as soon as possible.
